Protect your information. Please don't email Social Security numbers or tax documents. Send them through our secure client portal instead. How it works →

Before you begin

Two minutes of preparation makes everything else quick.

Portal address
portal.bementtaxservices.com — bookmark it. It's the only address we use.
New clients
Create your account at portal.bementtaxservices.com/en-us/signup.
You'll need
The email address you gave us, and your mobile phone (for verification codes).
Password rules
At least 12 characters, with at least one capital letter, two numbers, and two special characters (such as ! $ %).
Works on
Any current web browser on a computer, tablet, or phone. The mobile app is optional.

We will never ask for your portal password — by phone, email, or text. If anyone does, it isn't us. Use a password you don't use anywhere else.

Create your account

For new clients, or anyone who hasn't received an invitation email from us.

  1. Go to portal.bementtaxservices.com/en-us/signup (it's also the Sign up link on the portal login page).
  2. Enter your email address and click Continue.
  3. Enter your first name, last name, and mobile phone number. Agree to receive text messages (they're used for verification codes), then click Continue.
  4. Create your password using the rules above.
  5. Enter the verification code that was emailed to you.
  6. Click Let's get started. You're in.

We're notified when you sign up and will connect your new login to your client file. If you don't see your documents right away, that's why — give us a business day, or call if it's urgent.

Activate from our invitation

If we've already set up your account, you'll get an invitation email instead of signing up yourself.

  1. Open the invitation email and click Activate Account. If the button doesn't display, copy the link from the email into your browser.
  2. Create your password using the rules above, enter it twice to confirm, and click Submit.
  3. Your account is active. Sign in at portal.bementtaxservices.com from now on.

Can't find the email? Check your spam or junk folder — the message comes from a taxdome.com address, not from us directly. Still nothing after 10 minutes? Call us and we'll resend it.

On a computer or in a browser

  1. Go to portal.bementtaxservices.com.
  2. Enter your email and password, then click Log in.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code that's emailed to you (or the code from your authenticator app if you've turned on two-factor authentication — see below).
  4. Optional: check Remember this device for 30 days so you're not asked for a code every time on your own computer. Don't use this on a shared or public computer.

In the mobile app

  1. Open the app and enter the same email and password, then tap Sign in. You don't need to enter our firm name or address — the app finds your account.
  2. Enter the 6-digit code emailed to you.
  3. Create a 4-digit PIN for the app, and turn on Face ID or fingerprint unlock if you'd like.

Turn on two-factor authentication

Strongly recommended. It means a stolen password alone isn't enough to get into your tax file.

  1. Install an authenticator app on your phone if you don't already have one. Supported apps include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, Duo Mobile, LastPass Authenticator, and Okta Verify. iPhone users can also use the built-in verification codes in the Passwords app.
  2. In the portal, open Settings.
  3. Toggle on Two-factor authentication, enter your account password, and click Continue.
  4. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (or type in the secret key it shows).
  5. Enter the 6-digit code from the app and click Confirm.

Add a text-message backup (recommended)

  1. In Settings, toggle on Backup authentication (SMS).
  2. Enter your account password and click Continue.
  3. Enter your mobile number with the country code (+1 for the US), then enter the 6-digit code you receive by text.

New phone or lost your authenticator? Call us before you're locked out. We can reset two-factor authentication or grant one-time access so you can set it up again. Entering the wrong code too many times locks the account for 30 minutes.

Install the mobile app (optional)

The app is the easiest way to scan paper documents, sign forms, pay, and get notifications on your phone.

  1. Search for TaxDome Client Portal (developer: TaxDome) in the App Store on iPhone or iPad, or in Google Play on Android — or use the links below.
  2. Tap Install, wait for it to finish, then tap Open.
  3. Sign in with the same email and password you use on the web (see Sign in above).

Upload documents from a computer

  1. Sign in and open the Docs page. Drag files from your computer onto the page, or click Upload files (available on both the Docs and Home pages) and choose one or more files.
  2. If asked, choose the folder the files belong in. When you're unsure, any folder is fine — we'll file them.
  3. Click Upload, review the list of what was uploaded, and click Done.
  4. When you've sent everything we asked for, click Done uploading on the Home page (or on the Docs page, then Send notification). That sends us a single "ready to go" notice instead of one alert per file. You can also tick the box that says the upload includes all remaining requested documents while you're uploading.
  • Accepted files: PDF, PNG, JPG, Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), and most common document types. Up to 200 MB per upload.
  • Not accepted: program files and videos.
  • Whole folder? Click Upload folder on the Docs page to send a folder in one go.

Scan documents with your phone

No scanner needed. The app turns photos into a single PDF, even for multi-page documents.

  1. In the app, tap Scan from the Home or Documents section.
  2. Take a photo of the page (or choose an existing photo from your gallery). Crop or rotate it if needed, then tap Next.
  3. Scan any additional pages the same way. When you've captured them all, tap Done.
  4. Rename the file if you like (for example, "2025 W-2 – Employer name"), tap Next, choose a folder, and tap Upload.

Lay the document flat in good light and fill the frame. A clear scan of a W-2 saves us a phone call to confirm a number.

Complete your tax organizer

The organizer is our questionnaire — it replaces the paper packet and tells us what changed this year.

  1. You'll be notified when an organizer is waiting. On the Home page, click Complete Organizer under Organizers (or open the Organizers section).
  2. Work through the questions. Required questions are marked; the rest are optional. Your answers save automatically, so you can stop and come back later.
  3. Where a question asks for a document, attach a file you've already uploaded or upload a new one from your device. In the app, you can scan it on the spot.
  4. When every required question is answered, click Submit (on the web) or Save & send (in the app) and confirm.
  • In the app, tap the three-dot menu and choose Save as draft to pause.
  • After we review it, the organizer moves to History with a green checkmark.

Sign documents electronically

  1. On the Home or Docs page, find the request under Your to-do list and click Sign document. (You can also click the link in the email we send — it's valid for seven days.)
  2. First time only: read the Electronic Signatures Disclosure, check the box to agree, and click Continue.
  3. Click Start, then click each highlighted field. You enter your signature and initials once — they're reused for the rest of the document and for future documents.
  4. Click Next to move between fields. When every field is complete, click Finish.

Signing your e-file authorization (IRS Form 8879)

The IRS requires identity verification before Form 8879 can be signed electronically. This is called knowledge-based authentication (KBA):

  • You'll answer a few multiple-choice questions generated from public records and your financial history (for example, a past address or loan).
  • You need to answer at least 3 of 5 correctly, and you get two attempts.
  • KBA requires a Social Security number. If you file with an ITIN, we'll arrange a different way to sign.
  • On a joint return, each spouse signs separately. If one of you doesn't pass KBA, the other's completed signature is kept — nothing is lost. Call us and we'll reset and resend the request.

Pay an invoice

  1. On the Home page, open the Billing section and click the invoice (or click the link in the invoice email).
  2. Review the details, then choose a saved payment method or add a new one.
  3. Pay the full amount, or change the Amount to pay field for a partial payment, and click Pay.
  • Depending on the options shown on your invoice, you can pay by credit card, bank debit, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
  • Card and bank details are stored in tokenized, encrypted form by the payment processor (Stripe) — we never see your full card number.
  • Paying from an email link without signing in works, but your payment method won't be saved for next time.

Send us a secure message

Use portal messages instead of email for anything that involves your tax details.

Reply to a message from us

  1. On the Home page, find the message under Your to-do list and click Open chat.
  2. Type your reply and click the send icon. Attach a file with the paperclip — attachments upload to the chat immediately.

Start a new conversation

  1. Click New chat under Quick links on the Home page (or in the Chats section).
  2. Enter a subject and your message, then click Create chat.

Don't see New chat? Reply to any existing conversation instead, or call us — we'll start one for you.

Troubleshooting

I didn't get the verification, activation, or reset email

  • Check your spam or junk folder. The emails come from a taxdome.com address.
  • Add that sender to your safe-senders list and wait up to 10 minutes.
  • Double-check the email address you typed — a single typo is the most common cause.

I forgot my password

  1. On the login page, click Forgot password, enter your email, and click Get reset link.
  2. Open the Reset password link in the email (it expires in 24 hours).
  3. Enter a new password that meets the rules above, twice, and click Set new password.

I'm locked out of two-factor authentication

After several wrong codes the account locks for 30 minutes — wait, then try again with a fresh code. If you've lost the phone or the authenticator app, call us: we can reset two-factor authentication or provide one-time access.

The login page won't load

Make sure JavaScript is enabled and try a different browser or device. If it still won't load, call us — we can check on our end.

It says my account was deactivated

Call us. That message means access was turned off on our side, and we can turn it back on.

Need help?

Your taxes, your documents, your account with us

That's us. Call Loading... during business hours (Tue–Fri 9–4, Sat 9–1), or send a message from inside the portal.

We can also resend invitations, reset two-factor authentication, reactivate access, and link a spouse or business partner to your account.

How the portal itself works

The portal's technical support is provided by TaxDome, not by our office. Start with the TaxDome Client Help Center ↗ — short articles with screenshots on every topic in this guide.

If your portal shows a Get help menu at the top right, you can also choose Tech support and Send us a message to chat with TaxDome's support team about uploading, signing, and navigating. They'll refer anything about your actual return back to us.

One more time, because it matters: please don't send Social Security numbers, tax forms, or account numbers by email. Upload them in the portal, hand them to us in person, or call — we'll never ask you to email them.

Guide last reviewed September 24, 2026. Portal steps and button names are based on TaxDome's published client documentation and may change as the platform is updated; the linked help-center articles are always current.
